Shawn O’Hagan

Shawn O’Hagan was born in Toronto and moved to Newfoundland in 1975. She lives and works on the west coast of the island, dividing her time between her house in Corner Brook and her cabin in the Bay of Islands. She has a BFA from the University of Guelph, a B.Ed in Art from the University of Toronto and a MFA from the University of Waterloo. She has worked with many processes and materials and for the past 15 years has concentrated mostly on textiles. She has exhibited her work in solo and group shows, mostly in the Maritimes, and her work can be found in many collections including the Canada Council Art Bank.

Shawn O’Hagan est née à Toronto et a déménagé à Terre-Neuve en 1975. Elle vit et travaille sur la côte ouest de l’île, partageant son temps entre sa maison de Corner Brook et son chalet en bordure de la Bay of Islands. Elle est titulaire d’un baccalauréat en beaux‑arts de l’Université de Guelph, d’un baccalauréat en éducation, spécialisation en beaux‑arts, de l’Université de Toronto et d’une maîtrise en beaux-arts de l’Université de Waterloo. Elle a travaillé avec de nombreux procédés et matériaux et, au cours des 15 dernières années, s’est surtout concentrée sur les textiles. Elle a exposé ses œuvres dans le cadre d’expositions individuelles et collectives, principalement dans les Maritimes. Ses œuvres font partie de nombreuses collections, notamment de la Banque d’œuvres d’art du Conseil des Arts du Canada.
