Tammy McClennan

Tammy McClennan is a Canadian artist and metalsmith who has exhibited her work in North America and Europe. She studied Sculpture/Installation at OCADU in Toronto, Ontario and Metalsmithing at NSCADU in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her work is an exploration of forms, materials and fabrication techniques, with environmental themes.

She attended studio residencies in North Iceland (2016/2017) and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia (2018/2019), where exploring the natural landscapes, coastal regions, flora and fauna provided inspiration for her sculpture and installation. Her work has been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and Craft Ontario.  

She is currently creating new work based on her ongoing research of beaver habitats around Central and Southern Ontario.

Tammy McClennan est une artiste et orfèvre canadienne qui a exposé en Amérique du Nord et en Europe. Son travail constitue une exploration des formes, des matériaux et des techniques de fabrication, souvent sur des thèmes environnementaux. En 2016‑2017, elle a participé à la résidence d’artiste Listhus à Olafsfjordur (Islande), et en 2018-2019, elle a fait une résidence d’artiste au Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design à Sydney (Nouvelle-Écosse). Tammy McClennan est membre de Craft Ontario et de la Vancouver Metal Arts Association. Sa série récente, Melt & Float, fait le pont entre les explorations des paysages et des rivages du Nord et du Sud de l’Islande et ceux du Cap-Breton (Nouvelle-Écosse).
